The Hops have been freed! Governor Riley signed the Gourmet Beer Bill into law and now higher alcohol beers are available in our fine state. Olde Towne Brewing Company, in celebration of all of Free the Hops' hard work, will introduce our Emancipation Double IPA sometime next week. This is a well balanced IPA with an alcohol by volume (ABV) of around 10 %. We are only brewing a small batch and it will only be available in a few select locations including Mason's, The Nook, Brinley Brothers, The J Clyde, Voodoo Lounge, The Chop House and the Brick.
The Rocket City Brewfest and Magic City Brewers Festival are both now in the books. Both events were a huge success and we enjoyed every minute of both. Thanks to Free the Hops and the J Clyde for making the Magic City Brewers Fest better than ever!
Olde Towne will hold our second annual Anniversary Party at Lowe Mill on August 22nd in conjunction with Free the Hops and Lowe Mill. If you attended our grand re-opening party at Lowe Mill last August, that is what to expect. If you didn't, you really shouldn't miss this one. We'll have awesome live music, Olde Towne Beer and great food. The event is free, but donations to Lowe Mill and Free the Hops are expected.
Olde Towne continues to grow and we are trying very hard to keep up with demand. I know some of you have been dissappointed in the past week or so when your favorite place was out of your favorite Olde Towne beer. All our tanks are full and we should be caught up by the middle of June. Bare with us, we're brewing our asses off.
